The new Razer blade, yes the one with the extra ridiculous names, got announced in Thursday, 24th October, in an event, hosted in Germany.

The New Razer Blade Pro got announced, branded as “The desktop inside a laptop”. The skeptic of this laptop was to pack as much horsepower as they could inside a portable laptop. Specifically, as an Instagram post by Min Liang Tan, the CEO of Razer, said, they were inspired for the new blade by a meme that was floating around the internet.

As for the actual components, this new laptop is being powered by an intel core i7 6700-HQ, the laptop equivalent of the well-known intel core i7 6700K. It has a GTX 1080 as a graphics card, the best NVidia’s gamer-oriented GPU. As for memory, it packs 32 gigabytes of DDR4 memory, clocked in at 2133 Mhz. The versions of this laptop range to about 2 TBs of PCiE SSD storage. It features a thunderbolt port, an addition that is really useful nowadays. It features an SD card slot, for our readers with cameras and other devices that support an SD card. Also, Side speakers, 3 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, with the capability of displaying 4K resolutions at 60 hertz, or 60 Frames per Second. Lastly, a Kensington port is available to secure your laptop. Oddly enough, we now have to report that a tech product like this laptop, has a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. Looking at you Apple. For networking, Razer has implemented the Killer Doubleshot Pro LAN ports, one of the best LAN ports in its kind.

As for the components we see and touch, this new Razer laptop features a 17.3 inch 4K, G-Sync supported monitor, to pair NVidia’s GTX 1080 top-of-the-line graphics card. As for the keyboard, it is what Razer calls “the first low profile mechanical switches keyboard”.  This mechanical keyboard has a clicky feel and an actuation force of 65 grams. Moreover, Razer has included RGB lighting to this keyboard. It also has dedicated media keys, a large trackpad, and even a scroll wheel. The laptop weighs in at 3.5 kilograms, and a total height of 22.5mm.

Now that we are done with the specifications, there is a problem that Razer has not fixed. That problem is the cooling of all these powerful components. As we have seen with all the other, older Razer laptops (The Blade series), cooling was poor, especially on the top of the keyboard and the arm rests that beset the trackpad. Nowadays, Razer has included a vapor chamber. Now, we are with hopes and prayers that this beast’s temperatures do not hurt us or its insides. In other words, we hope it will not burn us while using it, or thermal throttle.

For the EU fans, they will receive the Razer Orochi mouse, and the Razer Kabuto mousepad for free, if they purchase any of Razer’s laptops, since now all the Blade series laptops are available in the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, with localized keyboards layouts for each. Thank you for the information. I was thinking about how impressive it was while I was reading, until I hit the gets hot part and then I laughed when I saw the price. It should be minted in gold or silver for that price. I do believe that you pay for what you get, but I don’t think you should have to take out a second mortgage or get a second job to afford it. The fact that it gets hot is really scary, especially with all the catching fire issues lately.

Honestly this brand is about looks, religion and power, and I kind of like that! Min is one of the best CEO any tech company has.

The Razor Blade really hits a sweet spot imo in terms of power and portability, especially with the decision to support Thunderbolt. I just wish I could afford it 😀

Razer is one of the companies that probes how Social media marketing affects everything, there are like 20 more companies making great gaing laptops who nobody knows about it because the lack of marketing, btw the main marketing on line was made by the CEO of Razer (Min)

I’ve wanted a Razer forever. Or an Alienware, even before Dell bought them. And I’m not even considered a super gamer! Doesn’t mean I don’t want fast!! If I said I liked Farmville would you’all kick me out of here?
