An upcoming event at GDC might reveal Google’s video game console

Less than a week from now, Google will show at the Gamers Developer Conference (GDC) 2019 its service and hardware for streaming games. With the code name of the Yeti Project, the event has been promoted as “Google’s vision for the future of games”.

The company first announced the event last month, but the latest teaser puts it front and center on Google’s main Twitter account.

The teaser video lasts 37 seconds of various scenarios associated with the start of a game. The scenes depicted include a generic stadium, a concert stage, a racing garage, an airborne jump and also a spaceship hangar. The date of the event flashes with an invitation to the users to meet.

A project that has been growing for years

While the teaser doesn’t tell us much, hints indicate that the company may be launching its own game-streaming service.

Last year, it was rumored that the company was working on a video game streaming service. The Project Stream of October 2018, confirmed that they have streaming technology in development, with a public beta version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Yeti Project was announced last mont. They also suggested to keep an eye on https://g.co/gatheraround. This link opens a Google Store page, which supports this hypothesis on some type of console about to be disclosed.

Gathering all of the facts & rumors, it seems to be one of the biggest announcements Google has ever made at the conference. However, Google is just one of the companies that wants to enter the gaming business. Likewise, Amazon currently works in its own service of games in the cloud.

Google’s GDC keynote will take place next tuesday (March 19th) at 10AM PT / 1PM ET. You can watch it here → http://g.co/gdcreveal19
