Google I/O Summary 2018

Spread the love

The Google I/O conference it’s been carried out since yesterday and we can tell this year the company surprised us with new releases and improvements

For the ones who still don’t know what I’m talking about, Google I/O is a massive conference in which the company announces its new products, especially focused on the company’s software, mainly Android and Google Assistant.
knowing this, it’s time to show you which news I liked the most:

1.- Android P

Undoubtedly the biggest star of the day, Android P is the new software update, successor of Android Oreo. From today, it is available in all Google devices on beta phase and other smartphones from Google partners.

There also other improvements like an adaptive battery that saves energy. Phones will use 30% fewer battery thanks to machine learning.

2.- Google Assistant

Will be smarter than ever, and it will come with new customize voices. They will reach up to six new voices to make our conversations less monotonous. The assistant will have a better conversation understanding, the promise is that you will be able to hold a phone conversation like talking with real people. Screens will arrive with the integrated assistant which can be controlled via voice thanks to this Google Assistant:

3.- Google Photos and Gmail

Finally but no less important, Google photos will continue using artificial intelligence (IA) to make photograph corrections, and I’m no talking about filters, but the IA will tell us automatically what corrections we must make to improve our photos.

Older Black and white photos will come colored thanks to IA systems. Maybe this is nothing new because we can make this effects thanks to third-party apps, but now Google will help us with these without sacrificing our phone memory.

Gmail will also be available, thanks to artificial intelligence, to suggest the text to be written in an email.

And all of these releases are just the Iceberg tip.

I also like the fact that the Android OS will be getting even better at managing battery consumption. Android is already way better than iOS. So for it to use 30% less power is amazing!
