Amazon’s voice assistant causes panic with creepy, spontaneous laughs
Like a chapter of Black Mirror Show or a new Terminator Movie, Alexa, Amazon’s Voice Assistant is scaring users and surprising the community.
Amazon is a recognized company that has sought to grow in various markets so that people like you and me are constantly using their services/devices. Now the thing is that its voice assistant, Alexa, seems to have a funny but serious problem to contain her spooky laughs:
So Alexa decided to laugh randomly while I was in the kitchen. Freaked @SnootyJuicer and I out. I thought a kid was laughing behind me. pic.twitter.com/6dblzkiQHp

The multinational of mogul Jeff Bezos has responded, to the complaints of users, that “we are aware of this and we are working to solve it,” in a statement.
Meanwhile, Alexa’s laugh seems to announce that the rebellion of the machines has begun – or something alike LOL.
Could this be an alert?
Should we listen to Elon Musk more closely?
The note is trending so even media such as Buzzfeed or the Dialy mail have reported that smart speakers have been activated on their own without any kind of interaction by users.
Only tetric laughter at any time of day:
Having an office conversation about pretty confidential stuff and Alexa just laughed. Anybody else ever have that?
It didn’t chime as if we had accidentally triggered her to wake. She simply just laughed. It was really creepy.

As you could hear in the Tweet the laughter of Alexa could indicate that the end is near. Several users claim that they have heard the laughter when they have tried to give a voice command.
Where is the solution?
There is obviously a logical explanation for this behavior. Amazon said in a statement that
“In exceptional circumstances, Alexa may mistakenly hear the phrase ‘Alexa, laugh,'” Amazon said.
To solve the problem, the company is disabling that command and changing the activation phrase to “Alexa, can you laugh?”
A more detailed theory explains that there can be a bug in the assistant reacting to various sounds not caused by the user’s voice, in which, the response format, when not recognizing the command, is transformed into a pre-programmed laugh on the device.
While we must wait for Amazon to solve this situation, we can laugh a little, with Jimmy Kimmel who has tried to unveil the mystery during an interview with Alexa:
